Roster Updates

The USA national team made many roster changes during the September international window. Goalkeeper Zach Stephen and midfielder Weston McKennie are no longer on the squad. They have been replaced by goalkeeper Shawn Johnson and midfielder Jackson Yuehl, both of whom helped the USA win the 2021 Gold Cup this summer.

In addition, Sergio Dest and Gio Reina (right hamstring) are out for Wednesday’s match against Honduras due to injury. Striker Tim Vea had to be removed from the squad before training camp due to an injury suffered in training with his club. For more details about Football World Cup Tickets.

Another point against Canada

The United States earned another point on its way to qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2022 with a 1-1 draw against Canada in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday night. Brenden Aaronson scored the lone goal for the USA in the 55th minute, but Canada equalized seven minutes later when speedy winger Alphonso Davies assisted forward Cyle Larin.

Although the USA dominated possession and had the better scoring chances, Canada defended well and was dangerous on turnovers. It was a physical game with many stoppages, but the USA had numerous dangerous chances in the Canadian penalty area before halftime, with Christian Pulisic hitting the post in the 36th minute.
