Advanced CCTV cameras and electronic road signage boards have also been installed to ensure traffic flow and direction of fans at stadiums, said Operation Leader in Ashghal, Eng. Abdullah Al Qahtani. Speaking to Qatar Radio about Ashghal’s Qatar World Cup readiness, Al Qahtani said Ashghal’s Road Management Center would be linked to the Interim Traffic Management Center (TTCC) to monitor the situation and respond quickly to any changes to road systems.
He added that Ashghal in partnership with the Executive Committee for Inheritance (SC) and other partners, such as Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation Kahramaa and Qatar Rail, made the center ready to receive fans during a major sports event. Ashghal’s role in hosting the World Cup is active, divided into three categories of applications before, during, and after the event, Al Qahtani said.
Speaking about the pre-event program, he said, after the announcement of the tournament dates, Ashghal set up a team to inspect all the roads around the FIFA World Cup stadiums. The initiative aims to check road quality, signposts, safety barriers, drainage systems, street lights, traffic signs, and pedestrian crossings among others to ensure readiness to host a major sporting event.
Following the results of the study, he said, the necessary repairs were carried out to ensure the safety of road users. In collaboration with relevant authorities such as the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior and SC, a survey was conducted to address all road closures and deviations to identify alternative routes for residents and foreign users during sporting events.
He said the necessary arrangements were made to use vehicles in the areas based on the study. To address this the next phase of the program during the tournament electronic road signs will be used to guide fans to the best roads to reach the stadiums and parking lots, the official said.
He said electronic traffic signboard boards installed in tunnels, highways, and flyovers would help fans get to the stadiums on time during the games. He said some parking lots would be next to the stadiums and some would be a short distance away, according to the categories of tickets held by fans. The traffic situation will be monitored by an Ashghal-controlled control room called the Road Management Center located at the Asset Sector Building in Ashghal, Al Qahtani said. He said the control room would be connected to TTCC to review any changes to the road system in the event of an emergency and the relevant authorities to respond immediately.
Road signs will be controlled by CCTV cameras to ensure traffic flow during and after the event, Al Qahtani said. He said dedicated teams of Qatari pumping and road systems in collaboration with Qatari engineers would be used to direct the roads around the stadiums before and during the events to provide the necessary technical assistance if needed.
Cityscape Qatar World Cup 2022 will be held from June 20 to 22
Promoted by the FIFA World Cup, Cityscape Qatar Football World Cup 2022 to showcase hundreds of real estate projects. The 10th edition of Cityscape Qatar will be at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from June 20-22 and will highlight what the country’s retail market will look like after the FIFA World Cup.
This year’s Cityscape Qatar will also see the launch of the (DQ) design quarter for the first time. Dq is a dedicated exhibition space for regional and international building companies and interior designers to highlight their projects and innovations.
Reducing epidemic-related sanctions, the issuance of an incentive gun, reforms in building codes, and the FIFA World Cup 2022 all brought hope to Qatar’s real estate industry, organizers said in a statement. In recent years, the Gulf has had its luxury resorts, travelers, and a real estate market.
In Qatar, experts are now seeing a resurgence of healthy shoots by regional developers, the announcement of three Doha museums from the world’s leading architects, and international investors who are keen on opportunities in the country’s real estate market.
Chris Speller, director of the Cityscape team, co-organized by Informa Markets and Elan Events, said: The vision of the Qatari housing market this year is very promising. As the IMF predicts that GDP growth is expected to rise to 3.2% this year, economic recovery looks healthy.
Aligned with its National Vision 2030, Qatar is shifting its focus on economic diversification and paving the way for real estate to be one of the biggest drivers. With the new Foreign Investment Act, the rapid and decisive management of the Covid-19 epidemic, and the country playing the biggest sporting event in the world, Qatar is becoming an attractive investment opportunity in the Gulf.
In the 10th edition of Cityscape Qatar this year, we look forward to allowing visitors and viewers to see the best projects presented in the market but also to provide a forum for discussion, awareness, and debate on some of the industry’s biggest concerns.
With an annual per capita income of less than $ 100,000 by 2020, according to the IMF, Qatar’s housing and the housing market is slowly counting the country’s growing GDP, the statement said. Cityscape Qatar is preparing to showcase new and exciting projects from GCC and beyond.
