The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has organized 38 community groups to perform at the event while fans were filmed with the trophy. Arts, music, and dance include roaming and stage performances from groups representing Qatar, India, Ghana, Uganda, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Colombia. In addition, fans enjoyed a series of activities, including football simulations and art and crafts.
The SC also organized a special photo opportunity and trophy for community leaders. Khaled Al Suwaidi, Director of Stakeholder Relations at SC, said, our community teams have made a significant contribution to this series of events. They helped create an atmosphere of excitement while showcasing the rich cultural experiences people can expect when they visit Qatar for the FIFA World Cup later this year.
Al Suwaidi went on to say: Community engagement continues to play an important role in our preparations for the tournament. Over the past decade we have built close relationships with many community groups and fully involved them in a great series of important initiatives. Their excitement has been unwavering since the beginning and we look forward to continuing this journey during the tournament and the event. Abdul Jabar Faris, of the Palestinian dance troupe Salam, said Qatar’s 2022 excitement was high.
We performed in Souq Waqif, Msheireb, and Asian Town and the reception was excellent. It is very pleasing to see people of all ages and nationalities enjoying our dance, even though they may not understand the letters of the alphabet. It is gratifying to know that the next time we see the trophy will be when it is lifted at Lusail Stadium on December 18th.

Everyone will feel like a winner on that day because we all came together to host a successful and historic global event. During the Katara Cup-winning final, attended by more than 10,000 fans and the legendary Brazilian Cafu, Colombian dance troupe Ballet Folclórico Latino Americano proved to be one of the most exciting. The group’s founder Yulyer Prada said it was a privilege to share their culture with local people.
These games help our children learn more about their heritage while sharing our culture with the people of Qatar. It is a pleasure to celebrate the FIFA World Cup for Latin spectators and we are proud to support so many events in Qatar over the years. At the end of the day, it is a beautiful cultural exchange that connects us to our common love of dance, music, and football. For more to know about Qatar World Cup tickets Click here.
Qatar is developing airspace communications and tower automation
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has appointed Frequentist to upgrade its existing voice communication system (VCS) and to make its current air traffic control (ATC) service meet the need for aviation due to the Qatar World Cup 2022 in the country. The World Cup is expected to significantly increase the number of visitors to the region, with the daily flow of air traffic expected to increase from 700 to 1800 movements.

QCAA is upgrading both its main and back VCS systems to improve airport performance and maintain safety as the airspace needs to change. The VCS backup will benefit from the next generation VCS Frequentis, X10, to increase durability. In addition, the QCAA will also use Frequentis electronic aircraft straps at the ATC tower to support air traffic controllers by effectively managing workloads and maintaining safety during air traffic.
Frequentis has provided QCAA with reliable ATM systems since the 1990s. Our electronic Flight Strips integrated with the ATM system marks the next generation of tower automation, which will allow the QCAA to cope with the expected, significant increase in air traffic, notes Josef Kutschi, Managing Director of Frequentis Middle East.
Both digital paperwork and the implementation of the IT-based VCS, X10, meet the latest requirements for tower digitalization, open the door to automation and efficiency, and improve awareness of regulators and workflow.
The X10 architecture allows for a flexible, flexible, and sophisticated approach to air traffic management and smart STRIPS is an important tool to support administrators in their challenging role, said Hannu Juurakko, Frequentis Vice President and Chairman of the ATM Management Team.

We are pleased to work with QCAA on this modern transition, the additional benefits of the X10 will fully prepare QCAA for its upcoming airspace requirements. The VCS X10 is designed from the outset to complement Virtual Center’s latest operating trends and, as an appeal of ED-137 fully, supports the digital integration of ATC communications, as well as standard implementation and voice communication over IP (VoIP).
The Frequentis smart STRIPS system is already being implemented on five continents, including two to more than ninety executives to manage administrative positions. As a regional partner, Bayanat Engineering Qatar is delighted to be part of this project to support the Qatari airport with the predicted need, notes Hassan Ezzedine, General Manager of Bayanat Engineering Qatar.
