Poland Vs Saudi Arabia: Poland’s supreme all-time World Cup team

If there were an All-Time FIFA World Cup, this would be the 23 players I would bring to the competition. Poland entered its first-ever Football World Cup Finals in 1938.  They played a heroic game against Brazil, where Ernst Wilimowski counted 4 goals.  However, for the next 34 years, Polish football did not make any other mark globally.  Then, Poland had a Golden age between 1972 and 1986. They won the Olympic Gold in 1972.

Then, advanced to the semi-final of the World Cup Finals in 1974 and 1978.  In 1974, Poland perhaps fielded their finest ever team. Their rashness started with the World Cup Qualifier against England at Wembley in 1973. They drew England and removed them in the progress.  It was measured as one of England’s darkest nights in their football past.

Then, Poland came third in the Football World Cup Finals. Grzegorz Lato ended as the top scorekeeper. Some football historiographers considered Poland 1974 as good as the Netherlands and West Germany in the same competition.  In 1982, Poland removed the Soviet Union in the 2nd round under the fog of the Solidarity drive of the 1980s.

They again ended 3rd. After the FIFA World Cup Finals in 1986, the average of Polish football weakened. They had high opportunities at the World Cup Finals in 2006, where they played in next-door Germany, but they were unsuccessful to go past the Group phase.  Again, in 2008, Poland held the European Championship but crashed to reaching the second phase.
