Quickly for several years, Moza is now the Marketing and Communications Director of the Generation Amazing Foundation one of SC’s most important legacy programs. The CSR program operates around the world and thanks to football developed by development projects it has had a positive impact on more than 725,000 people. With less than six months to go before the big game kicks off, Qatar2022 sat down with Moza to learn more about his career and how he is helping Qatar create a landmark tournament.

Tell us about yourself

I come from Al Thakhira, just outside Al Khor. I graduated from Qatar University with a degree in biomedical science before earning a Master’s degree in medical education at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. I have always been interested in biology and microbiology and although I am not currently working in that field, my studies have given me confidence by increasing my ability to work in a completely different field.

Why did you join SC?

The work I did to communicate with the Al Khor community before the construction of Al Bayt Stadium made it possible for me to meet many people who were working on the Qatar World Cup 2022 project. I was impressed with how determined they were to ensure that this tournament became a time of change for the development of the country. It encouraged me to join SC and help bring Qatar a legacy and a region they can be proud of.

What do you do every day?

When I first joined SC, I worked in the Technical Delivery Office, where I managed relationships with stakeholders and other agencies; especially government services. This role has enabled me to better understand the impact that the competition will have on the community, and how it will inspire Qatar National Vision 2030.

In particular, I have worked with housing infrastructure and the development of national health skills before the FIFA World Cup. This project was a complete introduction to my current role with Generation Amazing, a legacy program that uses football to develop as a means of supporting underprivileged communities around the world while building a more equitable society.

What motivates you in your work?

I love overcoming challenges and working as part of a multicultural team that respects diversity for all. I have always been encouraged by the level of hope that exists in all parts of our organization; despite the many challenges we all work to overcome daily. Qatar is a small country, but the great success we have achieved in preparing for the tournament has nurtured a sense of apparent contempt for all the work we do. But in the end, what keeps me informed is that the work we do with Generation Amazing has a real impact on the beneficiaries. It is something that motivates me daily. This spirit of excellence is something I will take with me wherever my work takes me.

All 32 groups are listed from Favorites to Visitors

The FIFA World Cup 2022 finals are now only five months old, but which national team will lift Qatar’s most prestigious soccer trophy on December 18?

However, the Brazilian TV show ranks all 32 nations in four different categories: Favorites, Trophy Winners You may be surprised and, finally, Visitors. Four teams have been selected as favorites including, not surprisingly, Brazil. Although the tourist category has 14 teams about 32 of which will compete in this winter’s competition including the host country.

Well, it’s hard to see any of these teams challenging the FIFA World Cup honors later this year, right?

Interestingly, Saudi Arabia finished above Japan and Australia in the qualifiers and Iran finished with South Korea. But both teams are still missing out on a place in the next round. Senegal, who won this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, could be a real threat. As could Wales, who won the first FIFA World Cup in 1958.

England’s recent worrying form has not lost them a place in the Winners of the Cup category. Some teams are always dangerous in big tournaments, especially Spain. In the meantime, we will find out if Cristiano Ronaldo can inspire Portugal to emerge from what could be his last FIFA World Cup match.

But Argentina, Germany, and France are lined up alongside Brazil as they prepare for the Football World Cup. France is the world champions after to Russia four years ago, but don’t underestimate Argentina, who are currently in a stunning 32-match unbeaten run and have won both the Copa American and Finalissima trophies over the past year. We can take the fans who left with good memories. Like Ronaldo, this will be Lionel Messi’s last FIFA World Cup. The famed striker is determined to add one trophy to his current collection before passing his boots.

Qatar is ready to deliver a great spectacle

Since Qatar was granted hosting rights in 2010, the country has been at the forefront of many issues. It has been a long journey. When we won rights, we were exposed to the media on issues ranging from corruption and human rights to the welfare of workers. For us, it is about dealing with those problems and using the Football World Cup as a catalyst for change, he said.

Regarding the welfare of the tournament’s staff and human rights development and transformation in 10 years has been a big one, he said. New minimum wages have been introduced and employment laws have been changed to benefit workers, Fatma said. He also eased his fears about the fact that it would be an expensive world cup for fans and pointed out the need for tickets from around the world.

We were very interested in the first and second rounds of ticket sales. People want to be in this competition. The top countries that have applied for tickets are Argentina, the USA, UK, UAE, and Germany, he said. Fatma hopes the Qatar World Cup 2022 will enhance Qatar’s image. There is a negative view of us in the media. The biggest thing we can take from the FIFA World Cup would be the fans who left with good memories and a better understanding of the region, he said.
