Hans-Peter Zaugg

Hans-Peter Zaugg, born on 2 December 1952, is an ex-Swiss footballer and the current manager of FC Solothurn. He is often mentioned by his nickname, “Bidu.” After a playing profession which saw him make stops at FC Rot-Weiss Bumpliz, Neuchatel Xamax and FC Bern, Zaugg took up coaching. Until 1990, Zaugg trained at various Swiss clubs, when he became a youth football coach in the Swiss Football Association.

Two years later, Zaugg also linked with the FIFA World Cup team as an assistant instructor, a location he held until 1999, when he became warden of the national team, following Gilbert Gress’ resignation in a dispute over income. From 2000-2005, Zaugg then trained at Grasshopper-Club Zurich, FC Luzern and BSC Young Boys.

In December 2006, FIFA World Cup player Hans-Peter Zaugg was named supervisor of the Liechtenstein national football team following Martin Andermatt. Zaugg and the Liechtenstein Football Association cancelled the contract in a mutual agreement by 31. December 2012.
