The roster consists of nine current Premier League players and eight Championship players. There are two players from League One, two from League Two, one from the Scottish Premiership and four who currently play their club football abroad: captain Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu. Here media Wales talks about the people who will carry the hopes of the nation in Qatar World Cup.

Wayne Hennessey

Age: 35 Caps: 106 Goals: 0

The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has only made one appearance for the club this season, in the EFL Cup, having moved from Burnley last summer, although the club’s lack of activity has rarely bothered him in the past.

Hennessy played second fiddle to Danny Ward at Euro 2020 but is the favorite in goal in Qatar World Cup, regaining the number one jersey.

Danny Ward

Age: 29 Caps: 26 Goals: 0

The former Liverpool goalkeeper is finally getting regular playing time at Leicester City following the summer departure of Kasper Schmeichel and the Foxes are starting to thrive after a rocky start to the season. Ward played a part in Leicester’s rise from relegation places and starred for Wales in the last major league.

Adam Davies

Age: 30 Caps: 4 Goals: 0

Davies played three games for Sheffield United in October, his first club football since joining the Blades from Stoke last January. Davies, who was drafted ahead of Salford’s Tom King, played for Wales in the Nations League last summer but it would be a surprise if he saw any action in Football World Cup.

Ben Cabango

Age: 22 Caps: 5 Goals: 0

Swansea City defender Kabango has not been a regular international since Robert Page took charge of Wales, but has made the trip to Qatar thanks to his consistent league performance over the past two seasons. A powerful centre-back who has become increasingly confident with the ball, Cabango was part of the Wales squad for Euro 2020, although he did not play.

Tom Lockyer

Age: 25 Caps: 14 Goals: 0

Luton Town centre-back Tom Lockyer is one of the most unexpected additions to Rob Page’s team. The 27-year-old is a regular starter at Luton and has the seventh-best defensive record in the league this season, but he may not be playing as well in Qatar World Cup, behind more experienced players.

Ben Davies

Age: 29 Caps: 74 Goals: 1

A senior team member and key defender for Wales, Davies is heading into the Football World Cup in top form for Tottenham Hotspur. Able to play at left-back or in central defence, Davies has been a fixture at Euro 2016 and Euro 2020 and can look forward to becoming a central figure again in Qatar World Cup.

Chris Gunter

Age: 33 Caps: 109 Goals: 0

He may be playing club football in League Two these days, but Gunther was always going to make up Page’s 26-man squad in Qatar due to his influence and status in the Wales squad. Chances are the veteran right-back – Wales’ most prolific scorer – may not get much football in this tournament, but when called up, he has rarely let his country down.

Chris Mepham

Age: 25 Caps: 33 Goals: 0

The centre-back is heading to the Football World Cup on what is arguably the best club form of his career as he has been a regular for Bournemouth in the Premier League this season. Mepham, who has played three games at Euro 2020, has also done well for Wales and could look forward to starting against the United States.

Connor Roberts

Age: 27 Caps: 41 Goals: 3

Roberts hasn’t always been in Burnley’s starting line-up lately – though he plays football regularly – but it would be a shock if he didn’t play a big role for his country. Roberts’ athleticism, energy and ability to make powerful leaps forward make him an important part of Page’s team.

Joe Rodon

Age: 25 Caps: 30 Goals: 0

Rodon may have struggled to make a name for himself at Tottenham – which is why he’s on loan from French club Rennes – but the former Swansea centre-back has consistently made an impression in Wales. A side figure at Spurs, Rodon is heading to Qatar Football World Cup, where he is playing in Ligue 1 and the Europa League this season.

Neco Williams

Age: 21 Caps: 23 Goals: 2

Williams prospered at Fulham last season, helping them win promotion to the Premier League while on loan from Liverpool, prompting a big-money move to Nottingham Forest last summer. Now adjusting to life playing top-level regular football, wingback Williams is another player who looks like the starting team’s favorite when Wales take the field against the Americans. Joe Allen

Age: 32 Caps: 72 Goals: 2

USA Vs Wales Tickets | England Vs Iran | England Vs Wales Tickets | Football World Cup Tickets | Qatar Football World Cup Tickets

Allen belongs to a generation of high-profile footballers who have made three major league appearances over the past six years. He is one of Page’s most important players. It is therefore of great concern that the midfielder has not played since September due to a hamstring problem.

Ethan Ampadu

Age: 22 Caps: 37 Goals: 0

Whether working in defense or midfield, Ampadu can probably look forward to a bigger role in Qatar World Cup than at Euro 2020, where he only started one of Wales’ games. He’s heading to the Football World Cup, having played quite regularly this season for La Spezia, who are struggling in Serie A.

Dylan Levitt

Age: 21 Caps: 13 Goals: 0

More than two years after his international debut, Levitt wasn’t sure he would get a Football World Cup call-up, although he did appear at Euro 2020 and was a regular for Wales’ recent teams. The midfielder joined Dundee United on a permanent basis last summer. He was voted Player of the Year by the club’s supporters last season when he was on loan from Manchester United.

Joe Morrell

Age: 25 Caps: 30 Goals: 0

Morrell continues to struggle to establish himself at club level, having been in and out of Portsmouth this season, but this is another player who has rarely let Wales down. Started in all four of Wales’ Euro 2020 games and despite doubts over Joe Allen’s suitability, he could play a big role once again.

Aaron Ramsey

Age: 31 Caps: 75 Goals: 20

Besides Gareth Bale, Ramsey is a star name in the Wales national team. A string of injury problems has limited his impact lately, but he will certainly play an important role if Page’s team is to impress in Qatar Football World Cup. He has made 15 appearances for Nice since joining the French club after leaving Juventus last summer, although he has only made four of them in the league’s starting line-up and has only managed one goal.

Matt Smith

Age: 22 Caps: 19 Goals: 0

Manchester City’s youth prod- uct is heading into a second major league title after making the squad but not taking the field for Euro 2020. The midfielder’s options may again be limited, although he has had playing time with League 1 wrestlers MK Dons this season.

Sorba Thomas

Age: 23 Caps: 6 Goals: 0

A couple of years after playing non-league football and working as a scaffold builder, wide player Thomas heads to the Football World Cup. It’s been a tough season so far for champions Huddersfield Town, but 23-year-old Thomas has an impressive six assists.

Jonny Williams

Age: 29 Caps: 32 Goals: 2

Williams has scored six goals for League Two promotion contenders Swindon Town this season, joining them in 2021 after being released by Cardiff City. His number of minutes in the Wales shirt has been limited in recent times, but the popular Williams is known for making an impact in the dressing room even when he doesn’t take the field.

Gareth Bale

Age: 33 Caps: 108 Goals: 40

A talisman of Wales and a key figure in the recent success of a nation that has been vying for a place at the top football table for decades. Bale has proven time and time again that when he’s fit and shooting, he’s capable of changing the game at the highest level. As they prepare for their first Football World Cup appearance in 64 years, Wales must hope he’s fit and shooting.

Rubin Colwill

Age: 20 Caps: 7 Goals: 1

A shocking inclusion in Wales’ Euro 2020 squad once again won Page’s endorsement despite battling injuries this season. Colville is an attacking midfielder who has shown himself to be able to open teams, but he did not score or provide an assist in the 2022-23 season and has not played since Wales’ Nations League defeat to Poland in September.

Mark Harris

Age: 23 Caps: 5 Goals: 0

Harris is off to his first major tournament, scoring three goals for Cardiff City this season. The striker has not yet made much of an impact at the international level, although his options have been limited.

Daniel James

Age: 24 Caps: 38 Goals: 5

Former Manchester United winger James, who played for Wales under Page, will no doubt play a big role in Qatar. James is a hard-working player who poses a serious threat on the counter-attack, although he has yet to score this season as he joined Fulham on loan from Leeds.

Brennan Johnson

Age: 21 Caps: 15 Goals: 2

Like Daniel James, Johnson is a player who can instill fear in opponents with his speed and directness. After an impressive contribution to Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the league in 2021-22, Johnson, like his club, found himself a little more difficult in the Premier League, but in his relatively short career in Wales he has proven he can thrive at international level.

Kieffer Moore

Age: 30 Caps: 29 Goals: 9

First there was the European Championship and now the Football World Cup for the former rescuer who played for England C on days when he was not in the league. Moore’s power and presence in the air means he is unlike any other striker at Page’s disposal, and the Bournemouth striker has proven to be a very useful asset since his first call-up to Wales in 2019.

Harry Wilson

Age: 25 Caps: 38 Goals: 5

Given that Wilson is only 25 years old, it is surprising that his international debut came almost a decade ago. Whether or not he comes on as a substitute, the gifted attacking midfielder can look forward to a job in Qatar World Cup. He returned to Fulham in October after suffering a serious knee injury that at one point raised concerns about his participation in the Football World Cup.

Winners and losers from USMNT’s Football World Cup roster reveal as Pepi and Steffen snubbed while Ream rises

GOAL breaks down Gregg Berhalter’s 26-man team, from unexpected calls to shocking omissions. On Sunday afternoon, the phones of members of the US men’s team rang. One by one, their screens lit up with messages from Gregg Berhalter, all with the same message.

As everyone knows, there is little more scary message from the boss than this. When such a message comes from your national team coach just a few days before the Football World Cup squad is announced, it can make your heart stop.

For the 26 players who received this message, a dream came true. This text was followed by a video call with Berhalter, who confirmed that they would go to the Football World Cup. Smiles, laughter, tears of joy – all equally. Grab your England Vs Iran Tickets from our on line platform.

But for others, the news was devastating. The nature of the roster cut system has forced Berhalter to shatter the dreams of some players who have been involved in a difficult program overhaul over the past four years. Over the next few weeks, we’ll find out if Berhalter made the right decisions.

Winner: Surprises

There were no lapses in Landon Donovan’s style on this team. Christian Pulisic, Weston McKenny, Tyler Adams and Gio Reyna, the big stars of the team, are all involved as expected. But there were some omissions that few people could have noticed a few months ago, and some inclusions that made the list from purgatory.

Tim Ream is one of the last players, as is Shaq Moore. Neither has been involved lately and both looked like players destined to miss out. Hadji Wright was another stunning person who seemed to have fallen out of the picture after this summer. Meanwhile, Christian Roldan and Jordan Morris were always on the bubble and both heard their names on Sunday.

No squad prediction is ever 100 percent accurate as there are always twists and turns before the Football World Cup and there could be more if someone gets injured leading up to the tournament. But it’s safe to say that Berhalter added a few wrinkles that few people foresaw, and the biggest one was next on our list…

Loser: Zack Steffen

The one that no one would have ever seen until this week. For the better part of four years, Zach Steffen led the USMNT. He was No. 1 throughout the Football World Cup qualifiers and despite Matt Turner’s height, Berhalter seemed to be leaning towards Steffen in the USMNT goaltending race.

And this race is already over. Turner in the squad. Steffen is not. When asked why this was so, Berhalter did not elaborate. According to him, he preferred to talk about the guys that he has. He talked about Turner’s skill set, Sean Johnson’s leadership skills, Ethan Horvath’s willingness to shine when called upon. However, Berhalter said how difficult it was to break the news to Steffen that he would not be part of the 26.

“It was very emotional for them and for me,” Berhalter said of his conversation with Steffen. Me and Zach are from a distant past and he has been by my side many times, so telling him that he will not be part of the Football World Cup team was heartbreaking. But these are decisions to be made.”

USA Vs Wales Tickets | England Vs Iran | England Vs Wales Tickets | Football World Cup Tickets | Qatar Football World Cup Tickets

The fact is that Steffen simply did not play enough over the past two years. His time as Ederson’s understudy at Manchester City may have made him better, but not sharper. He hasn’t played as No. 1 in USMNT for a long time, but it’s amazing to see that he is not No. 2 or No. 3.

At 27 years old, Steffen’s dreams of a Football World Cup weren’t over yet. He is a very good goalkeeper and goalkeepers get better with age. Who knows where he will be in a few years when 2026 rolls around? However, it will hurt, and rightly so, for a player who has always seemed destined to start in Qatar.

Winner: Tim Ream

When asked to explain why he chose Tim Rome, a player who hadn’t worn a USMNT jersey for over a year, Berhalter gave a simple explanation. Have you watched any Fulham games lately? And that statement is in many ways more than enough reason to include the 35-year-old centre-back.

Ream has played an incredible role at Fulham this season, captaining the club in the Premier League after taking them out of the Championship last season. You can easily argue that he is the best USMNT centre-back at a time when form matters the most. Add to that the fact that he will be very, very familiar with most of the players associated with groupmates England and Wales and you have every reason to bring in Ream.

Now the question is where does it fit. Walker Zimmerman has all but established himself as the No. 1 centre-back, but the debate about his team mate is still ongoing. We now know that there are three left: Rome, Aaron Long and Cameron Carter-Vickers. Long is probably the favorite as he has collaborated the most with Zimmerman. But when it comes to playing Rome, Zimmerman says he’s more than fine with it.

“He’s one of those guys who can jump right into the team because of his experience and leadership, Zimmerman said. So we feel confident with him and he is clearly playing at a very high level for Fulham this year. We believe in him on and off the field and I’m happy to have him in the squad.”

Zimmerman’s partner may not be determined yet, but Rome may just get his chance after spending a whole year out of the spotlight. You can buy England Vs Wales Tickets from our website.

Loser: Ricardo Pepi

From a future USMNT 9th place to a complete absence from the Football World Cup, the last year or so has been a nightmare for Ricardo Pepi. His move to Augsburg backfired as his struggles in the Bundesliga completely left him out of the picture. He is currently out of the Qatar World Cup despite a good start on loan at Groningen, and Berhalter has decided to bring Jesus Ferreira, Josh Sargent and Hadji Wright to Qatar.

This is another terrible lesson in what happens when a translation goes wrong. A year ago, Pepi was the most promising player in American football. But his move to Augsburg, a bad team with a bad attack, stifled his momentum to the point where he was overtaken by at least three of his opponents.

This is far from Pepi’s last chance. The young striker has brighter days ahead and his spell at Groningen proves that the talent that everyone saw in him a year ago is still very much in abundance. But think of Pepi, the young player who is sure to be heartbroken at missing out on a dream opportunity. Bright days may be ahead, but this one will sting for a while, given the position it was in just a year ago.

Winner: Jordan Morris

Whatever you think of Jordan Morris, put it aside. Don’t look at the player for one second; look at the person. How far Morris has traveled over the past few years. He emerged as the leader of the college who turned down European offers for MLS. He became a key USMNT regular and then tore his ACL. He returned and then tore his cruciate ligament again while on loan at Swansea. And despite all this, here in the squad, ACL has lived one hell of a story.

There were times when many wrote him off, and Morris himself admits that there were times when he, too, never thought he could return his dream. Those doubts come to your mind, Morris said, especially during difficult times when you watch qualifying games and sit there, unable to fully bend your leg or when you cannot run. like, I’m so far from getting back on the field.

“Those doubts definitely creep into your head, but I just had to put my head down, keep working hard and know that I am going to put in my best effort to achieve this. it’s my everything, I was going to be proud of myself. Just being here, it’s all so special.”

USA Vs Wales Tickets | England Vs Iran | England Vs Wales Tickets | Football World Cup Tickets | Qatar Football World Cup Tickets
USA Vs Wales Tickets | England Vs Iran | England Vs Wales Tickets | Football World Cup Tickets | Qatar Football World Cup Tickets

Here he is, in the detachment and on the plane to Qatar Football World Cup. He may not play a big role when they get there as he will most likely be the fifth winger or fourth striker. The most likely scenario for Morris would be to play as a substitute in an emergency when the US is in desperate need of a goal, or as a human cigar of victory if the Stars and Stripes pick up momentum late in the match.

However, even if Morris never sees a field in Qatar, you have to admit how cool it is. Eight years ago, when Morris first showed up, we assumed we’d see him at the Football World Cup someday. After the second ACL tear, we thought we would never see him at that level again. And that’s what the FIFA World Cups are about: moments, memories and stories. This week, Morris’s story received another chapter that seemed impossible several times over the past few years.
