With two away games to come to end this year’s Six Nations contest. Wales captain Ken Owens is aiming for a first win under his guidance when he takes his side to Rome to face Italy in a fortnight and then goes on to Paris. The last two weeks have taken their toll for several reasons, but we can’t use that as a reason. A lot of things have gone on, but we drew a line in the sand and now every sponsor in Welsh rugby has to come collected before and we have to advance before RWC, said Owens.

Every game in a Welsh sweater is a must-win game. We haven’t won a game yet and we will go out there and put a burden on ourselves to win, said Wales captain Ken Owens. We put a shift in against England and I’m pleased that we fronted up. There were a lot of good things out there we gave a huge effort for 80 minutes and we were right in the game throughout. We left a couple of breaks out there and I can’t inquire about the effort of this team.
We are in a re-building stage, and we’ve got to rebuild pretty fast. Our discipline and defensive effort were much improved, we stuck to our game strategy but came up short. We dripped up a little bit too much burden in the first half and turned over the ball near their line three or four times. Looking back on the show in the 20-10 defeat to England, head coach Warren Gatland had a few things to say.
How was the game?
We can be serious about ourselves in standings of us creating a lot of glitches for ourselves by not being precise in main critical moments. That’s what Test match rugby is about, staying in the armed struggle and staying in the fight, and being precise. We’ve spoken about being solid on ourselves, in areas we need to advance on. I thought there were several enhancements in that act but there is still a lot of work for us to do before France Rugby World Cup 2023.
Fresh look backline
I thought Joe Hawkins went well and Mason Grady did well for his initial cap. We fortified well at times, we probably need to make a bit more width on attack and that is rather we need to work on for RWC 2023. It’s a case of us trying to control things in serious moments, whether that’s taking a lineout or stopping a ball going to the ground from a pass. We have a little bit of interaction stuff we can tidy up in the 22 and just make a bit more on the attack.
We do a lot of work in positions of receiving kicks and we put a couple down or bashed them on, which allowed them to shift the impetus. There are a lot of things we were happy with, and we have better. Our Achilles heel at the instant is not being precise and clinical in the hostility 22. And we are exposing the ball and allowing the rival to get on it. We didn’t get too many penalties from failures and there were a couple against us. For more know about Wales Rugby World Cup Tickets.
Which players can we assume for Rome?
We’ve observed a few players. It is all very well saying that, but you also need a little bit of steadiness in selection. We were required to find out a bit about players within the group, and we kind of feel having done that in games and exercise, we are now thinking about unity going forward, chiefly for the Italy game which becomes pretty significant.
Italian game more significant than ever?
The last item you want to do is get the Wooden Spoon. That’s got to be our motivation from that. Part of these six nations is about us thinking about the next six or seven months. We’ve got adult players still holding their hands up and some fresher players who need some time. We’ve not got that set in the middle, who have 30 or 40 caps. We’ve got to wed the two poised and start thinking about that going forward.
Some of those childhoods need to be given more time to compose. You can’t teach experience. That was part of the chat I had with Joe Hawkins in the week. He wasn’t mainly happy with parts of his game against Scotland, but I thought he had a good game today and enhanced from us giving him the confidence to go out there and play Rugby World Cup stage. He’s a player I think will continue to get improved and better, but he needs more time in the middle.
Confident building towards France Rugby World Cup 2023?
I know that the top thing about an RWC is the amount of time you have together. When we get to the World Cup, the hard work we’ll have put in and the enhancement we’ll get in terms of strength, power and ability will have a big impression on the performance of this side moving forward.
Rugby World Cup 2023: Eddie Jones’ Australia frights New Zealanders
Australia will be a threat at the Rugby World Cup under the guidance of Eddie Jones, according to former New Zealand Sevens star Karl Te Nana. The former England manager took charge of Australia at the end of January, giving him eight months to turn their luck around. Previous head trainer Dave Rennie thrashed to get Australia firing, ending his contract with just a 38 per cent win record.
There were marks, however, that the Aussies were beginning to progress in the Autumn Nations Series, losing barely to both France and Ireland. And with Jones’ aptitude to make an instant impact in a role, as he did with England, Kiwi expert Te Nana is anxious about the threat Australia will pose at the RWC 2023. Everywhere he’s gone to, the next 12 to 16 months he’s better the sides. For more know about Australia Rugby World Cup Tickets.
That he’s gone to, and we know he goes alright at a Rugby World Cup, Te Nana said to media. I’m scared because these Aussies have already shown us that when they get it right they can be tough to beat. In Melbourne, they should have leaned us up, let’s be honest. I’ll be fascinated because Eddie is old school, and it’ll be motivating to see how these newer players in Australia adapt or respond to Eddie’s ways.
New Zealand legend Kieran Read also had his say on Jones and decided that the 63-year-old could revitalize the team, even if he disbelieved Australia’s France Rugby World Cup probabilities. It’s a scary proposal. He is a world-renowned trainer at a global level. What he did with England when he first took over them, they didn’t drop for 17 games, so he has that instant impact, he said. That could surely revive a bit of what Australia can do.
I don’t see them going on and winning big games in an RWC 2023, but he will have an impact on them. Sir John Kirwan admired Jones but also quizzed the quality of the current side, stating, they will play to their supreme, but I don’t know if they’ve got the cattle. He got a standing applause when he walked in, he’s the biggest megastar over there. They love him, Kirwan added.
Eddie and I go way back, he will not leave one stone unturned and he will have that side fizzing. He doesn’t need any wounds, and he’ll probably find a couple of league players or a couple of IDs around the place, and he’ll try and make the strongest Rugby World Cup team possible.
