The puma’s document-breaking run persevered as he slotted 20 points beyond the posts in Argentina’s 25-17 win against New Zealand, marking their first on kiwi soil. Gregory Alldritt (France Rugby World Cup side and La Rochelle)

There’s absolute confidence that the thrilling young France Rugby World Cup team is at the top of the rugby, with the splendid work-fee of range eight gregory alldritt proving an essential element of their recreation at some point of their elegant 2022 grand slam triumph. Alldritt’s talent within the breakdown constantly winning turnovers for the facet mixed with his sporting, offloading, and sport-analyzing appreciation puts him in competition as one of the present-day fine in-form eight gamers within the international.

His all-around recreation, management, and international-elegance credentials additionally proved influential in the top 14 aspect loss of angeles Rochelle’s European rugby project cup win. Whilst Dupont is often the poster boy of the France Rugby World Cup side, anticipate to peer alldritt closely influence their campaign to boost the rugby international cup trophy later this 12 months.

England Vs Japan: Freddie Steward (England Rugby World Cup team and Leicester Tigers)

Even as it’s safe to mention the England Rugby world cup side had an alternatively depressing 2022 international marketing campaign, Leicester tiger’s complete-lower back Freddie steward similarly nailed down the number 15 shirt in a string of incredible performances. The 6-foot-5 superstar predominantly shines below the high ball, bringing real aerial prowess to the sport.

He’s additionally one of the aspect’s most constant attacking threats, regularly breaking traces and making meters along with his kick-chase abilities. His sublime end as he dotted down against the New Zealand Rugby team inside the fantastic last mins whilst the team fought lower back to draw 25-25 certainly sealed him as England’s and one of the Gallagher premiership rugby’s great and most steady fallbacks. Siya Kolisi (South Africa and Sharks)

The ever-inspirational global cup-prevailing Springboks captain is a hero to many making records in 2018 as he became the primary black captain within the facet’s 126-12 months records. His prominent presence has led him to come to be one of the most vital gamers in his country. A born leader on and off the pitch, the dynamic flanker led his facet to glory against the England Rugby World Cup side in the iconic final of the 2019 Rugby world cup and has when you consider that skippered the fact that defeated the British and Irish Lions in 2021.

Rugby World Cup: Best rugby players in the world for RWC 2023

Off the pitch, he’s a global recommend for the United Nations and a co-founding father of the policy foundation. His stunning breakdown abilities and ferocious protecting shifts encompass the spirit and gritty determination of the current Springbok team, who are presently one of the most dominant forces on the arena stage. Plus, his wonderful try in opposition to France in which no one inclusive of referee wayne Barnes saw him dart for the line still amazes me.

Ireland Vs Romania: Tadhg Furlong (Ireland Rugby World Cup side and Leinster)

The properly-respected Irish and Leinster prop is universally taken into consideration as one of the globalism high-quality front row forwards, together with his all-spherical skill proving a prime example of a present day-day tight head prop.

Along with his scrummaging prowess and explosive ball-sporting strength often performing as a battering ram towards multiple competition gamers he additionally possesses a shocking range of complementary abilities that push the boundaries of your ‘traditional’ prop. With an aggregate of threatening line breaks regularly appearing as a first receiver, superb side-stepping and offloading abilities, and expansive passes, a few have puzzled whether he is a fly 1/2 moonlighting as a prop. His astonishing bypass during Leinster’s pivotal champions cup semi-final against Toulouse again in 2022 is a top instance of his competencies.

Ardie Savea (New Zealand and Hurricanes)

Despite an overall mixed season for the All Blacks on the international stage, the backrower’s consistently impressive performances have put him in contention as one of the world’s best number-eights. Scooping the All-Blacks Player of the Year award last year, Savea is simply relentless in attack, with explosive ball-running ability, incredibly powerful carries, and efficiency at the breakdown. He’s also hugely dominant in defence, often making the most successful tackles on the team.

However, it’s undoubtedly his outrageous signature dummy passes that prove the cherry on top, with one in New Zealand’s 55-23 win against Wales in the Autumn Internationals even tricking the camera operator!

Eben Etzebeth (South Africa and Sharks)

Recently named 2022 South African Rugby Player of the Year, Eben Etzebeth continues to go from strength to strength. The veteran lock is a hugely influential member of the Springbok side and consistently one of the most physical and involved players on the pitch. Clocking in at a towering 6 foot 8, Etzebeth’s imposing stature certainly gives the Springboks a dominating edge at lineouts. His colossal physicality also regularly sends several players bowling over as he breaks through the opposition’s defensive line.

Furthermore, the Sharks star is an absolute menace at the breakdown, persistently competing for the ball and repeatedly winning turnovers. He’s not just all brawn though, as his quick thinking (after spotting an improper bind in a ruck) led to an audacious steal and subsequent try for the Sharks against Harlequins in a recent Heineken Champions Cup pool match.

Ireland Vs Scotland: Josh van der Flier (Ireland Rugby world cup team and Leinster)

The Irish back row looks to build on his dazzling form following an incredible international run which resulted in him becoming the third Irishman ever to be crowned Men’s Player of the Year 2022. Impressively, the 29-year-old openside flanker played in every minute of Ireland’s 2022 Six Nations campaign, subsequently scoring tries against both France and Scotland. He then featured in the squad which won a first-ever series away on New Zealand soil.

It’s Van der Flier’s surprisingly lethal acceleration and attack which makes him one of the most exciting ball-carrying number 7s in the world. He also offers an impressive turnover threat for both Leinster and Ireland. Expect the flanker to be a key force in Ireland’s campaign to overthrow France at the upcoming Six Nations Championship.

France Vs Italy: Antoine Dupont (France Rugby world cup team and Toulouse)

There’s no doubt about it, the French captain and Toulouse scrumhalf is undoubtedly one of the best – and most influential – players in the world right now. He’s an instrumental playmaker who often produces magic with the ball in hand, with his exceptional performance helping to lead France to its first incredible Grand Slam since 2010.

The hugely gifted number 9 is currently climbing the ranks of the greatest player ever winning every accolade he can – and he’s only 26 years old. He possesses a dynamic, all-round skill set, excelling in his running and kicking game and his defensive shifts. His pinpoint passes and intelligent inside lines often lead to game-changing breaks and his incredible power makes him hard to stop.

There’s just something so exciting about the French talisman. He has redefined what it is to be a scrumhalf and is helping to change perceptions of the game he was even the cover star of the French edition of GQ magazine in 2022. His flair and skill are drawing huge crowds, with rugby certainly flourishing in France. It’s special players like Dupont always lighting up the stage who make people fall in love with the game.

England Vs Argentina: Joe Launchbury targets return England Rugby team Steve Borthwick RWC 2023

The last few months of 2022 couldn’t have gone much worse for Joe Launchbury. After Wasps, the club he captained went bust and the England lock moved to Japan in search of work, he broke his hand playing for new club Toyota Verblitz on Christmas Day.

England Vs Argentina: Joe Launchbury targets return England Rugby team Steve Borthwick RWC 2023

Launchbury is hoping for better luck this year. A return to Test rugby and a place back in new England head coach Steve Borthwick’s squad for the World Cup is the target. The desire to play international rugby is something you don’t ever really lose. It’s still there for me,’ Launchbury told Sportsmail from the Far East. I understand that being over here now is making it harder for me and I’m missing the Six Nations but for sure it (England) is something I’m passionate about. I’ve been in conversation with Steve.

Like all the players at Wasps and Worcester, Launchbury lost his job when the two clubs fell out of existence in what amounted to an unprecedented financial crisis for the English game. The experienced lock subsequently upped sticks for a short-term move to Japan’s Rugby League One. He will return to England with Harlequins for next season and hopes to feature in the World Cup.

Launchbury remains eligible to play for England because his decision to move abroad was forced by the demise of his club. But his hand injury means he isn’t part of the Six Nations squad. Christmas Day was a bad day for me, he said. It was very different compared to Christmas back home and then I broke my hand in my first involvement during the game. It wasn’t the best start to my time over here and certainly not the best Christmas present. The plan wasn’t to get injured so early on, but I can’t speak highly enough of my experience.

From where I was a few months ago to where I am now, I’m just so grateful. Launchbury is still only 31 and with 70 Test caps, has a wealth of England experience that Borthwick will surely find hard to ignore once he is back on home shores. My experience of Steve is that he’s a very experienced coach and very knowledgeable around the forwards, Launchbury told.

I imagine he’ll get that forward pack back being feared by some other teams which maybe they haven’t been over the last period. There will be a bit of a reaction from them in the Six Nations which is a hugely challenging tournament. I expect England to compete much more than they have over the past few games. England opens their Six Nations campaign against Scotland at Twickenham on February 4 for what will be Borthwick’s first game since in charge since he succeeded Eddie Jones.

Launchbury, for now, will be limited to a role of an interested observer. He also wants to see a change in English rugby in the wake of the demise of his old club. I don’t know how it was allowed to get to that situation said Launchbury. I still firmly believe there’s no way a professional sport as big as ours could allow two of the top 12 teams in the country to go as they did. I think clearly, it’s got to force change.

It’s too little, too late for two clubs but the fact there are more conversations around it is only good moving forward. The RFU have a lot in their in-tray now, but hopefully working out a path forward for the game is something they must do. Richard Cockerill is the latest England coach to depart.

Richard Cockerill, the last assistant remaining from the Eddie Jones regime, is set to leave the England coaching staff after the Six Nations and take up a new role as head coach of French club Montpellier. The 52-year-old, who was recruited as a director of rugby by Leicester in September 2021, will depart as new head coach Steve Borthwick completes his overhaul of the coaching staff for the Red Rose team.

According to the Mail Online, Cockerill’s successor appears to have identified the man he wants to lead the set-piece salvage operation going forward Saracens coach Ian Peel. Eel has a long history with Saracens, having joined the club in 2015. Before that, he held the position of head coach for the England Under-20 team and also had a role within the senior national set-up.

The daughter of the all-time Premier League top goal scorer and England legend Alan confirmed she is dating Harlequins and England centre earlier this year. The 25-year-old singer has shared numerous shots with the popular speedster, who has represented his country four times. Photos shared across social media suggest Hollie’s relationship with the 26-year-old is still in its early stages.

Argentina Rugby team to play in final World Cup warm-up before England Rugby team opener.

England’s opening Rugby World Cup 2023 opponents Argentina Rugby team will finalize their arrangements by facing Spain in Madrid two weeks earlier than the two sides clash in Marseille. The Pumas beat England 30-29 at Twickenham in last year’s Autumn Nations Series, which was to be the final campaign of Eddie Jones’s time in charge, and the two sides will kick off their Rugby World Cups against one another at the Stade Velodrome on 9 September.

Michael Cheika’s side will be in the Spanish capital on August 26 for a clash against Los Leones, who was barred from the tournament after taking South African-born prop Gavin van den Berg in qualifying, who was later considered to be an ineligible player. The match is taking place as part of Spanish rugby’s centenary festivities and will be played at the Civitas Metropolitano, the home of football side Atletico Madrid which has a capability of over 68,000.

This fixture marks the second episode of ‘The Match’ after Spain lost to an All Blacks XV at the same venue in front of 40,000 spectators in May 2022. Argentina currently sits eighth in the world rankings but, after winning away in New Zealand and England last year, are many people’s dark horses to go deep in the Rugby World Cup in France later this year. The Spanish Rugby Federation believes the deal will help strengthen the bond between the rugby nations, with President Juan Carlos Martin Hansen saying: We are convinced that the Civitas Metropolitano will have great success and will lay the foundations to put Los Leones and Spain in the first line of international rugby.

The Argentine Rugby Union president Gabriel Travaglini added: It is a real pleasure to be able to play a test match again with the Spanish national team and participate in the centenary celebration of the Spanish Federation. Since that match in Madrid in 1982, in which the two teams played evenly, an excellent relationship began between the two nations, and many Argentine players have even gone to Spain to continue playing rugby.

This year we will meet again with Los Leones in a friendly that has transcendent value because it will help us improve our performance before competing in the World Cup in France. Argentina Rugby World Cup team will also face South Africa in a friendly warm-up match in Buenos Aires on 5 August, a fixture that falls outside of the streamlined 2023 Rugby Championship.

England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year

England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year

In November it will be 20 years since the England Rugby team became the only northern half team to lift the Webb Ellis Cup, becoming champions of the world as well as the best suit in Europe. To date, it is the only time the Five/Six Nations-Rugby World Cup double-up has ever been attained, despite the England Rugby team having had four efforts, France two and Scotland, Ireland, and Wales one each.

England Vs Samoa: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year
England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year

Only with two European teams presently sitting at the top of the World Rugby Men’s Rankings powered by Capgemini in Ireland Rugby team and France Rugby team, and a strong set of scores in the July internationals and Autumn Nations Series, can the north attack back and add to that 2003 success? Coming just seven months out from Rugby World Cup 2023, this year’s Six Nations will surely take on extra importance in terms of squad selection and as a gauge of form, but it doesn’t always follow that way. We look at how previous Five/Six Nations champions in Rugby World Cup years have progressed at the next centrepiece tournament World Cup.

1987: France Rugby World Cup team fall just short

Coach Jacques Fouroux led the France Rugby World Cup team to their fourth Six Nations Grand Slam. Les Bleus didn’t always play to their best or with the style that Five Nations followers had become familiar with, but they were deserving winners and had the title in the bag with a round to spare. Reaching the final of the opening Rugby World Cup perhaps paired their hopes given their form leading into the tournament; though it proved to be a game too far and the All Blacks have topped world champions after a 29-9 win.

For most of the 1980s England Rugby World Cup was in disarray and 1987 was no exclusion. A bottom-of-the-table finish in the Five Nations was then followed by a tame quarter-final exit at the hands of Wales. Wales Rugby team, like the England Rugby team, only won a single Five Nations match that year but were the only team from the British Isles and Ireland Rugby team to make a real effect at RWC 1987, winning the bronze medal. Third place is still their best finish to date.

1991: England Rugby World Cup team and another near miss

England Rugby world cup team waved good riddance to the 1980s and were a side converted under the new axis of Geoff Cooke and Will Carling. Embracing a power-based game with Rob Andrew delivering a steady hand on the tiller at fly-half, England took their first Grand Slam since 1980.

With a home Rugby World Cup to look forward to, sureness was high that they could deliver the goods on two fronts; though a change of tactics in the Rugby World Cup final in 1991 proved their downfall and it was the Australia Rugby team who were obtainable with the Webb Ellis Cup by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Wales and Ireland Rugby teams were only spared the disgrace of finishing the Five Nations without a position to their name after sharing the points in a dour 21-21 draw in Cardiff.

Destitute of many of their star names following the migration north to Rugby League, Wales’ struggles in the Five Nations were paired at Rugby World Cup 1991 and they went to make the knockout stages. The defeat to debs Western Samoa ranks as one of the biggest shocks in the tournament’s history.

Ireland Rugby team, temporarily, came within a whisker of shocking Australia Rugby team and making the last four something that has always proved beyond them ever since only for Michael Lynagh to break their hearts in a rousing meeting at Lansdowne Road. A mediocre display in the Five Nations from Scotland gave no sign that they would reach the semi-finals for the first and only time at a Rugby World Cup.

1995: Lomu destroys England’s Rugby team hopes

Fears that the 1995 Five Nations would just be a sideshow to Rugby World Cup that June was cast aside as the England Rugby team swept all before them, and in some style. A third Grand Slam in five years was just a reward for their performances while Scotland earned to take the runners-up spot following their historic win over the France Rugby team in Paris.

Both squads would come unstuck at the hands of New Zealand, and Jonah Lomu in particular, at Rugby World Cup 1995, leaving individually at the semi-final and quarter-final stages. How steep was the fall from Wales, from champions to a whitewash only their second ever in 12 months? A change of head coach on the eve of the Rugby World Cup 1995 made no difference in South Africa either. Ireland at least made the quarterfinals, while France’s Rugby team fell to the hosts in the semi-finals. 1999: Home Unions ease in short supply

For all the world it seemed as though the England Rugby World Cup team would claim the last Five Nations title on offer before Italy’s entry into an expanded Championship. However, in a dramatic highlight to the tournament, Scott Gibbs’ bullocking run and try for Wales at Wembley rejected them and handed Scotland the honour as a substitute.

In truth, Rugby World Cup 1999 was mostly one to forget from a Home Unions’ viewpoint with England Rugby team, Scotland and Wales all falling in the quarterfinals. Ireland Rugby team, second-from-bottom with France Rugby team in the Five Nations, did not even get that far after being stunned by Argentina in the never-to-be-repeated quarter-final play-offs.

From winning just one match in the final Five Nations, the France Rugby team were a side that transformed come to Rugby World Cup, achieving the final following an incredible quarter-final comeback against the All Blacks. Again, Les Bleus had to be content with the bridesmaid’s role as the Australia Rugby team ended the decade as they began it, by lifting the Webb Ellis Cup.

2003: From Dublin to the greatest glory

Having gone so close in 1999 England Rugby team suffered two more Grand Slam near-misses in the first two years of the new Millennium and then came second to the all-conquering France Rugby team in 2002. By the time 2003 came around, Clive Woodward was under stress to deliver success and this time his squad did not fluff their lines.

Wins over France’s Rugby team, Wales, Italy, and Scotland meant, that for the fourth time in five years, England only had one obstacle in front of them Ireland away having fallen against Wales at Wembley in 1999, Scotland at Murrayfield in 2000 and Ireland in Dublin in 2001. Returning to Dublin, England was understandably cagey in the winner-takes-all match, but their second-half performance was one of the best halves of rugby produced in the history of the Championship.

Buoyed by that 42-6 victory and back-to-back wins against New Zealand and Australia in June, England were understandably pre-tournament favourites at Rugby World Cup 2003. While never really at their best as a team during the tournament, England’s formidable pack, the kicking of Jonny Wilkinson, and the wizardry of Jason Robinson helped them become history-makers, although Australia took them to extra time in the final before the deal was done.

After their humbling at home to England, Ireland’s fortunes nosedived, and they went from Six Nations runners-up to bringing up the rear at Rugby World Cup. All the Home Unions and France made the last eight but of all the performances, Ireland’s against Les Bleus was perhaps the most underwhelming.

England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year

2007: Pumas take down Les Bleus

Ireland was being tipped as favourites for the Grand Slam, having played well during the November tests with a stellar squad that had matured well together. However, despite having started strongly with a win against Wales, they crucially lost to France 20-17 in a historic encounter at Croke Park.

In what was a highly competitive Championship, France went on to lose to England and going into the final day as many as four teams still had a mathematical chance of getting their hands on the trophy. However, in beating Scotland 46-19, France had done just enough in their final fixture to pip Ireland to the title on a points difference.

Confidence was high that France could deliver more silverware at a home Rugby World Cup but while Les Bleus’ quarter-final win over New Zealand in Cardiff will live long in the memory, it was book-ended by shock defeats to Argentina in the tournament’s curtain-raiser and then in the bronze final. Ireland’s inability to match Six Nations form at a Rugby World Cup continued as they, like Wales who were victims of a shock pool defeat to Fiji failed to make the last eight.

England, who finished third in the Six Nations, managed to reach their third final despite a 36-0 defeat to South Africa in the pool phase. The two teams met again in the Stade de France showpiece and the Springboks came out on top, albeit by a much narrower 15-6 margin. Italy managed two wins in the Six Nations in 2007 for the first time since their introduction and that was reflected by a decent Rugby World Cup showing. An 18-16 defeat to Scotland saw them fall just short of making the knockout stages for the first time in history.

2011: Wales Rugby team go forth and then thrive

England won the Championship with four wins out of five but was well beaten in their final fixture away to Ireland, which proved to be a portent of things to come. Martin Johnson’s side never really got going at Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand and exited the tournament at the quarter-final stage after a limp display against France.

Six Nations runners-up France defied the odds having lost to Tonga in the pool phase to reach the final and pushed New Zealand all the way in losing 8-7. For Wales, a semi-final appearance at Rugby World Cup 2011 was a good return following a fourth-place finish in the Six Nations. Ireland missed out on the last four, again, after a 22-10 loss to Wales, while Scotland’s ever-present knockout record came to an end. It didn’t come as a massive surprise, though, after a Six Nations where they, along with Italy, won only one match.

2015: Same old story for the Ireland Rugby World Cup team

Following a remarkable final round of matches that brought a glut of tries, Ireland was crowned Six Nations champions on a points difference from England and Wales. With England becoming the first host nation to fail to make it out of their pool, the northern hemisphere’s chances rested on the rest of the Six Nations countries. And having successfully defended the trophy from the year before, Ireland was being talked up as a serious Rugby World Cup contender.

But having breezed through their pool to raise expectations further, Ireland’s interest in the tournament once again came to a premature end when they were heavily beaten in the quarterfinals by Argentina in Cardiff. Wales and Scotland suffered agonizingly close defeats to South Africa and Australia, respectively, while France came second-best to a rampant New Zealand. For the first time in Rugby World Cup history, none of the Six Nations teams had made the semi-finals.

2019: Wales Rugby team and England Rugby World Cup fall just short

England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year
England Vs Argentina: The Six Nations in a Rugby World Cup year

With a campaign built on superb defence, Wales claimed their third Grand Slam in 11 years. Averaging just two tries per game, Wales never scored more than 26 points in any of their fixtures with the most resounding win of the lot 25-7 win against Ireland coming in the final round. It was a fitting way to mark Warren Gatland’s 50th Six Nations match in charge as Wales head coach and took their record-winning run to 14 matches. England came in second with three wins and a draw.

On the eve of the Rugby World Cup 2019, Wales briefly went to the top of the World Rugby Men’s Rankings powered by Capgemini only to be replaced by New Zealand and then Ireland and confidence were high that they could make their first final. To lose 19-16 in the semi-final, to eventual world champions South Africa, was no disgrace. For Ireland, another Rugby World Cup opportunity passed them by. A shock pool defeat to Japan gave them an unfavourable draw with New Zealand in the quarterfinals and when the All Blacks raced into a 22-0 lead, there was only ever going to be one winner. England’s breathtaking semi-final win over the All Blacks left them 80 minutes away from glory but like in the Six Nations, they came up just short.

Jack Willis exits England Rugby world cup camp early to further stymie Six Nations measures

Jack Willis is due to be issued by the England Rugby team on Thursday to return to his club, Toulouse, and will miss the rest of the current Six Nations training camp, meaning further disturbance for the new coach Steve Borthwick as he makes his side for their championship opener alongside Scotland in 10 days. Borthwick has this week seen Courtney Lawes, Elliot Daly, Jamie George, and George McGuigan ruled out of the camp through damage and must make do without the 26-year-old openside flanker for the final part of the five-day get-together.

Willis entered Toulouse in November but even though Rugby Football Union rules state that players based outside the England Rugby team are absent for selection, an exclusion was made for those who had moved away from the Premiership after the deaths of Wasps and Worcester. Under the Pro Game Agreement, the England Rugby team has full access to players for a training camp this week but as he is based in France, Willis’s involvement finishes on Thursday because the official international Test window has not yet started. Willis is understood to be able to start against Scotland, so his interim exit is unwelcome. Borthwick had shown that Willis was offered to train from Monday to Wednesday and it is assumed he will leave camp on Thursday.

Toulouse is in battle on Sunday night against Montpellier when England’s squad is due to continue in Bagshot to make it to face Scotland. Borthwick could thus face an anxious wait before Willis can come back to camp. Willis recently resumed from injury but shone in Toulouse’s Champions Cup dual header against Sale and opposed Munster last weekend. I’m loving it, it’s very different but I’m just trying to submerge myself in it all, learn the language two or three French lessons a week but I’m enjoying it overall, told Willis. The biggest difference is the rate at which rugby is played. It’s an extreme level to play at.

Willis qualified alongside Ben Curry and Alex Dombrandt on Wednesday, giving a clue as to Borthwick’s plans. Ben Earl, Lewis Ludlam, and Sam Simmonds offer options in the back row, as do Nick Isiekwe, Ollie Chessum, and Maro Itoje should Borthwick opt for more of a lineout option. Temporarily, Luke Cowan-Dickie’s hopes of appearance throughout the Six Nations are over after the Exeter director of rugby proved the hooker will be sidelined until the closing weeks of the season with an ankle injury.

Borthwick has difficulties at hooker with George presently sidelined with a concussion and McGuigan out with a knee injury. Harlequins’ unscrewed hooker Jack Walker is standing by for the Scotland fixture. The length of Luke’s injury means he should be back before the end of the season. The question will be whether it’s one or two weeks before the end of the season, Baxter said. It’s not going to be a big chunk of the season that he gets back offered for.

The Welsh Rugby Union chair, Ieuan Evans, has pledged that a task force that contains external knowledge will be created to help tackle allegations of racist, homophobic, and bigot bullying within the governing body. Several former WRU employees took part in an inquiry by BBC Wales which was screened on Monday night with allegations about their time at the organization. I can only genuinely apologize to all concerned, told Evans. Worldwide Tickets and Hospitality offers Rugby World Cup tickets for the France Rugby World Cup 2023 at the best prices. England Vs Argentina: Argentina Rugby world cup and Pumas shock

Argentina Rugby world cup team erased a 12-point halftime deficit to make a stunning 14-12 win in the men’s final versus hosts New Zealand in the latest round of the 2022-23 World Rugby Sevens Series on Sunday 22 January. In Hamilton, the women’s rugby contest was won by the Black Ferns who, with their 33-7 outdoing of the USA, went top of the rankings, four points clear of arch-rivals Australia.

The Pearls were slipped up by the USA in the semi-finals 10-7 before settling for bronze by beating the Ireland Rugby team 33-17. New Zealand was buoyant after their women justifiably lifted the trophy but came roaring back down to earth as the All-Blacks Sevens suffered an unimaginable collapse.

Akuila Rokolisoa – the series’ top points scorer who took his tally to 165 points went over the line in the fourth minute, but the Kiwis blew the exchange, a miss that would prove expensive in the end. Roderick Solo fell four minutes later to make it 12-0 at the lemon break but the story was only beginning. Santiago Alvarez shaved the deficit for the Pumas with a ninth-minute try and Marcos Moneta levelled three minutes afterwards.

Tobias Wade, who had only come off the bench a minute before, pinned the conversion as the tourists had the last laugh and their first win of the season. USA, felled by the Argentina Rugby team 24-14 in the last four, beat France 15-14 in the bronze final. New Zealand is still top of the table with 63 points, two points ahead of the USA. Argentina Rugby team (59) and South Africa (57) are in third and fourth place, separately.

Last, the front two in the women’s rankings are the USA in third and Ireland in fourth. The top four finishers at the season’s end routinely qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Hamilton is the fourth stop of the series for men, and the third for women. The tour moves on to Sydney next weekend.
